Women comprise just 11% of the security workforce.

We need your help to change that.

At Security Innovation we use our influence where possible to affect change – working with BoSTEM, ICMCP (International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals), and WISP (Women in Security & Privacy) to support women and minorities in the cybersecurity field. But there’s only so much we can do.

This is where you come in

DEF CON, one of the largest cybersecurity conferences in the world, is held each August in Las Vegas and considered a hacker's summer camp . While traditionally a male-dominated conference, each year more women have started to attend.

We want to keep that trend going

Toward this end, we are creating a scholarship for 5 deserving women to attend DEF CON 27 and participate in our annual CMD+CTRL cyber range CTF event.

Whether you are an elite ethical hacker or just curious about getting into the security field, no matter your background, you're encouraged to apply.

The application process is now closed

As a reminder

  • Submissions were accepted from June 5th – June 15th
  • We will start notifying recipients on June 18th via email
  • Winners will receive $1,000 USD each to cover the cost of attending the conference and travel/accommodations
  • You'll also be invited to participate in our 3rd annual DEF CON CMD+CTRL cyber range CTF as well as a women-only private dinner event with all scholarship recipients and Security Innovation engineers.
